The images in rambling were made on a short walk of an hour or so on a Sunday morning one June. Shortly after I wrote a journey-poem of eighteen verses. Photographs and poetry were then brought together in a book. Although presented in a geographical sequence readers were invited to view the images and read the verses in any order they chose – rambling.
An ocean drilled into a parade ground, all cereal crops are grass at heart, harbouring prairie, veldt, or steppe, volunteering posibilities of endlessness.
